f+.

I’ve finally bought a new Diana F+ from Lomography, as my old Diana+ was falling apart. It’s essentially the same camera, with a flash and coloured gel filters which slip over the bulb. Here’s a few from Jersey Live Festival that I took to get it started, though my next roll should be one that I’ve developed myself…

crowns.

Crowns are a London folk quartet consiting of Bill Jefferson (guitar, vocals), Jack Speckleton (mandolin), Peter Brandstetter (bass, piano) and Nathan Haynes (drums, percussion, vocals). Playing regular gigs across the capitol, Crowns also contributed music for the Jersey Arts Center Youtheatre production One Million Tiny Plays About Britain this summer, and Nathan flew over provided percussion this month for the fantastic 48 Hrs, directed by Gary Wicks. Crowns return to Jersey for an intimate performance in October, when An Evening with Crowns takes place in St. James.

clingfilm.

I wanted to try out a simple Diana+ modification, so I wrapped the little square frame mask in cling-film, clipped it into place and loaded the film. Here’s what happened.

blackbird, fly.

Having lusted over vintage TLR cameras for a while now, I’ve so far managed to avoid spending absurd amounts on a Rolleiflex or Lomo Lubitel. Luckily, last night, I stumbled upon the Blackbird. Made by Japanese toy-camera company, this plastic TLR is unique for a few reasons. First, it’s made entirely of plastic, so I expect the images will be similar to those shot with a Diana+ or Holga. Secondly, it seems to be the first exclusively 35mm TLR, with frame masks included to create either standard images (24mm x 36mm), square images (24mm x 24 mm) or a complete frame, sprocket holes an’-all.

New Home.

Welcome to sorry, foxtrot – a blog devoted to photography, music and whatever else I fancy. I’ve moved it from Blogger because the formatting wasn’t brilliant, making it difficult to display photos, so I’ll see how I get on with WordPress. I’ll copy a few old posts over to get the new blog started.
